This was a question we received from a customer recently…I have pets and will this cause my home alarm system to sound or call police?
Answer: Yes the home alarm system will sound/ go off if you don’t have a pet motion detector installed in the home security system. A pet motion detector bypasses cats and dogs up to a certain number of pounds or weight.
For example, I have two dogs weighing 30 pounds each walking around the house when the alarm is activated. This special technology for pets will bypass movement of living animals to a certain of number of pounds/weight.
If you don’t have a pet motion detector installed then you can still turn on or activate the home alarm by turning off the motion detector. Simply press bypass button depending which alarm system you have but most home security systems have this bypass motion mode feature.
